Recent and Upcoming Projects

Last season in Philadelphia, Shirley collaborated with pianist Stephen Buck and members of So Percussion for the world premier of David Smooke’s Hurricane Charm. The work was recently performed again in Baltimore with Stephen and musicians from the Peabody Percussion Department. Other upcoming collaborative projects are with pianist Matthieu Fortin on American and Canadian music for four-hands and with pianist Sungeun Kim on works for two pianos.

2010–2011 marks the opening season for League of the Unsound Sound (LotUS). Shirley is a founding core member of the League, a chamber group dedicated to performing contemporary and experimental music. Members of LotUS were founding members of (and may be current members of) Alarm Will Sound, ICE, Signal, and So Percussion. Upcoming performances will be in Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland.
